Offline Data

Instructions are provided below to remove offline data in any of the top five most popular web browsers.

Google Chrome

The following instructions were provided using version 47.0.2526.106 of Chrome, and therefore may be slightly different for the version you're using.

  • Click the Menu button in the top-right.
  • Click Settings.
  • Scroll down and click Show advanced settings....
  • Under Privacy, you'll see two buttons. Click the Clear browsing data... button.
  • A smaller dialog window will appear on-screen with a list of checkboxes. To delete offline data, uncheck all boxes except for the Cookies and other site and plug-in data and Cached images and files options.
  • You'll also see a dropdown menu above the checkbox options. By default, the beginning of time will be selected, which will completely remove all offline data. Change this option if you want to only delete data from a more specific time period.
  • Click the Clear browsing data button.

Mozilla Firefox

The following instructions were provided using version 26.0 of Firefox, and therefore may be slightly different for the version you're using.

  • Click the orange Firefox button in the top-left to access the menu.
  • Click Options.
  • Click on the Privacy tab.
  • Under History, you'll see a dropdown menu and two options below it. Click on the first option, clear your recent history.
  • To only delete cookies, uncheck all boxes except for the Cookies Cache and Offline Website Data options.
  • You'll also see a dropdown menu above the checkbox options. By default, Last Hour will be selected, which will only remove all offline data from the past hour of web browsing. Change this option if you want to delete all data set by the browser to Everything.
  • Click the Clear Now button.

Opera

The following instructions were provided using version 34.0.2036.25 of Opera, and therefore may be slightly different for the version you're using.

  • Click the Opera button in the top-left to access the menu.
  • Click Settings.
  • Click on the Privacy & security option in the left-side panel.
  • Under Privacy, click the Clear browsing data... button.
  • A smaller dialog window will appear on-screen with a list of checkboxes. To delete offline data, uncheck all boxes except for the Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files options.
  • You'll also see a dropdown menu above the checkbox options. By default, the beginning of time will be selected, which will completely remove all offline data. Change this option if you want to only delete data from a more specific time period.
  • Click the Clear browsing data button.

Microsoft Internet Explorer

The following instructions were provided using version 11.0.9600.18124 of Internet Explorer, and therefore may be slightly different for the version you're using.

  • Click on the Tools button in the top-right.
  • Click Internet options.
  • Under the General tab, click on the button Delete... under Browsing history.
  • To delete offline data, uncheck all boxes except for the Temporary Internet files and website files and Cookies and website data options.
  • Click the Delete button.

Apple Safari

The following instructions were provided using version 5.1.7 of Safari, and therefore may be slightly different for the version you're using.

  • Click on the Settings button in the top-right, to the right of the Page Menu button.
  • Click on Preferences....
  • A smaller dialog window will appear on-screen. Click on the Privacy tab.
  • Click on the Remove All Website Data... button.
  • Yet another dialog window will appear. Click the Remove Now button.
